Does your burger feel like this?

Sad, lonely, depressed?

Well on today’s program, we have Dom’s 3 easy ways to improve your burger!

TIP # 1: ALWAYS USE SOME TYPE OF AIOLI

I don’t care if it’s a chipotle aioli, a pesto aioli, or a basic aioli.

By using an aioli, you gain the ability to add that special ingredient; unifying the flavor complex of your burger. It’s simple to make (1 egg yolk, one cup of extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon of crushed garlic), yet makes such a difference in the final product. I enjoy adding some special seasoning such as lavender or rosemary, for an extra unique burger. Plus, the aioli you have left over, you can use to dip your fries in!

TIP #2: USE QUALITY BUNS

Go to the local bakery, and buy some fresh brioche buns.

This tip is even easier than the first, and is one of the most overlooked parts of a burger. I typically will use the standard brioche if I’m not doing anything too fancy; however, dabbling with alternate types of buns makes for a truly distinct burger. The bread makes such a difference not only in texture, but in flavor as well, that this component should be held with the likes of bacon and the boys.

TIP #3: FRESH INGREDIENTS

No frozen peppers and god-forbid any frozen patties.

I know some of you are shaking your heads because I shouldn’t still have to say this, but please, please don’t ever use a frozen patty. Don’t use frozen chopped veggies, or frostbit buns that you put in the freezer months ago. Most things that says “pre-cooked”, don’t trust.
Just one more tip for those who really want their burgers to excel. Make sure that your Patty/Ingredient ratio is even. The great thing about a burger is the diversity in flavors. If I wanted a big chunk of meat, I would make a steak.
